Hi Sam, we’re glad you liked the article! We really enjoy Blossom du Jour’s Skyscraper burger and their desserts! Brooklyn is definitely a vegan hot spot, but we haven’t check out the scene in Queens yet. Do you have any specific recommendations?

We got those stats from Datafiniti that did a poll on 18,000 restaurants in North America in October 2016. The result was a total of 563 vegan restaurants and 1,026 vegetarian restaurants in the metropolitan area of New York, making New York the most vegan-friendly city in North America. We linked to an article by ChooseVeg where they mention the statistics from Datafiniti. We thought it sounded crazy too, but it’s just further proof of how awesome New York really is!

Definitely some of our faves too, especially Champs, Two Boots, and Beyond Sushi!! Love that Two Boots has so many locations and they’ve recently expanded their vegan selection, which is amazing! We’ve always been a little disappointed in Blossom du Jour, their portions are a bit minuscule for us haha 😉 but there really is something for everyone in NYC! I will say that there are definitely not 600 fully vegan restaurants in NYC, where did you guys find that stat? Maybe that’s vegan friendly places? There are just over 100 vegan restaurants in NYC, which is still impressive, but it really also matters where you are in the city, since it’s so big! If you’re in Brooklyn, you’ll be spoilt for choice, but where we are from in Queens it can definitely get a bit more difficult. There are only a handful of vegan places in Queens right now, though we do have the best selection of cheap street food from all over the world, which is pretty awesome!!
