Food For Life’s Ezekiel Bread - 100% Vegan
Let's start this list with our personal favorite.
Food For Life's Ezekiel 4:9 is one of our favorite vegan bread brands because despite it being the healthiest bread on the market, the taste is unparalleled.
You see, what sets Ezekiel apart from other brands is that their bread is made from organic sprouted whole grains, beans, and lentils, and it's the sprouting process that takes things to another level.
The Ezekiel whole grain loaf is a great healthy option for sandwiches, toast, and anything else you would use a normal white loaf for.
With that said, we think their sprouted whole grain tortilla wraps are the best vegan bread option from the Ezekiel line. In fact, we love their vegan tortillas so much that we always have at least one pack in the fridge whenever we’re in the US.
The tortilla comes in two different sizes and can be used any way you like. For example, we use it to make breakfast burritos with scrambled tofu and avocado as well as quesadillas with refried beans and Daiya cheese.
The Ezekiel 4:9 bread contains all 9 essential amino acids which makes it a complete protein which is rare to find in bread.
Food For Life's products can easily be found in the US and the UK.

Little Northern Bakehouse has a large range of gluten-free and non-GMO certified vegan bread ranging from loaves and sprouted loaves to hot dog buns.
Besides one loaf that contains honey, the brand is completely vegan and offers gluten-free and allergy-friendly bread suitable for celiacs.
The brand is based in Canada and by using ingredients such as millet and brown rice, they have managed to create gluten-free bread that is just as moist and delicious as their gluten-packed counterparts.
Their wide white loaf is the perfect toast and sandwich bread while their millet and quinoa loaf is better suited for the health-minded.
As mentioned in our post about vegan bread, many hot dog and burger buns are not vegan, but that’s not the case with Little Northern Bakehouse.
Just be aware that one of the sprouted loaves contains honey, but it is marked accordingly and easy to avoid.

Simple Kneads - 100% Vegan
Simple Kneads is perfect for all you bread nerds that love to indulge in good artisan bread with that home-baked feeling.
All the bread offered by Simple Kneads is gluten-free, and thus completely safe for celiacs.
Their vegan sourdough is baked fresh in their gluten-free location in North Carolina. In fact, the gluten-free focus is Simple Kneads' hallmark.
You see, this vegan bread brand was created when the founder, Tristaun LeClaire’s 2-year-old son developed a strong allergy to gluten.
Since then, the brand has grown out of LeClaire’s kitchen, but the bread remains as authentic as ever and every loaf is a handcrafted masterpiece.
Choose between a simple sourdough bread, a protein-packed loaf with quinoa and teff, or the mouthwatering dark rye and pumpernickel bread.
Better yet, if your go-to store isn’t carrying Simple Kneads, you can order your bread directly from their website. All bread is baked to order to guarantee that it’s delivered to your door as fresh as possible.

Mission Tortillas - Vegan Options
When Adam first became vegan, he was especially nervous that he would have to give up his relationship with tortillas – a nightmare to say the least.
To his delight, it turned out that most store-bought tortillas are vegan including the world-famous brand Mission Tortillas.
In fact, Mission is one of the biggest vegan-friendly tortilla brands on the planet, and we have seen their products sold everywhere from the US and Central America to Europe, India, and Southeast Asia.
As you’re probably aware, Mission’s selection of vegan wraps is extensive. You can choose from simple corn and flour tortillas to whole grain versions such as vegan spinach wraps.
Personally, we prefer their corn tortillas because they have fewer ingredients compared to the flour wraps, but the choice is yours.
Mission Tortilla Vegan Items:
- Flour Tortillas
- Corn Tortillas
- Whole Grain Tortillas
- Special Tortillas
- Healthy wraps
- Mexican food
Ideal for: If you haven’t tried it already, we suggest you get some Mission tortillas and make burritos and vegan quesadillas.

Thomas’ - Vegan Options
Thomas’ is another hugely popular brand in the US and abroad, although they aren't 100% vegan so you have to be careful of which products you pick.
For example, all of their bagels and bagel thins are vegan and so are their Sahara wraps and pita.
We love to have their everything bagel toasted with a thick layer of vegan cream cheese, but you can enjoy Thomas’ bread however you like.
Unfortunately, their English muffins contain whey (milk) and so does their cranberry and cinnamon swirl bread. Moreover, their toast contains buttermilk.
Now, Thomas' Breads aren't necessarily the healthiest option, although they do have a whole wheat wrap.
Also, Thomas' is available in grocery stores across the US and therefore a brand that you can rely on in most situations.
Thomas’ Vegan Products:
- Bagel Thins
- Sahara Wraps
- Breakfast breads and bagels
- American bread types
Ideal for: As mentioned, a Thomas’ bagel with a thick layer of vegan cream cheese is hard to beat!

Trader Joe’s Bread - Vegan Options
Who doesn't love Trader Joe's? If you live in the US, you're probably aware that Trader Joe’s is a great chain for vegans since many of their name brand products are vegan by default or so-called “accidentally vegan.”
Luckily, this includes several of their loaves of bread as well as some of their sweet rolls.
For example, Trader Joe’s Tuscan Pane which comes in one white and one whole grain version are both vegan and perfect to make bruschetta from or use as a condiment with soup and pasta dishes.
In addition, Trader Joe’s makes a sprouted sourdough, a pita bread as well as a few other loaves that are vegan. We have had the pita a few times and love to use it for homemade falafels or vegan kebabs and gyros.
Moreover, compared to some of the more artisan vegan bread brands on this list, Trader Joe’s bread is typically more affordable and easier to find.
Trader Joe’s Vegan Bread:
- Tuscan Pane
- Tuscan Pane Whole Grain
- Pita Bread
- Sprouted Sourdough
- Quality loaves
- Affordable bread
Ideal for: We think the Tuscan loaf is perfect when making bruschetta or on it’s own with soup.

Bread SRSLY - 100% Vegan
As the name suggests, Bread SRSLY takes bread, and especially sourdough bread, very seriously. This brand focuses on gluten-free and allergy friendly bread, and all of their products are 100% vegan.
Bread SRSLY is based in San Francisco and pretty easy to find on the West Coast but can be a bit more difficult further East. Although, they do offer nationwide delivery if you order from their website.
The most popular loaf from Bread SRSLY is the classical sourdough which has the perfect texture and a great, slightly sour taste that’s characterized by the sourdough. However, they also have a few other types of bread such as a delicious sweet onion loaf and dinner rolls.
Additionally, the packaging is super cute and well-designed and quite frankly different from anything else we’ve seen on the market.
Even though this is a completely vegan bread brand, each pack is marked both as vegan and gluten-free so you never have to worry or double check the ingredients.

Free Bread Inc. - Selection of Vegan Options
Free Bread Inc. has an impressive and exciting selection of vegan bread and rolls that are widely available in the US.
This brand uses a range of healthy ingredients such as millet, brown rice, and hemp seeds but they also have some options that are more like your typical “white bread.”
One of the best breads we’ve tried from this brand is their Cuadrados (kind of like a ciabatta) which is the perfect sandwich bread.
But you can also indulge in sweet rolls, whole grain rolls, and fakels (fake bagels). They even make vegan hamburger rolls and sliders!
Now, not all of Free Bread’s bread is vegan, but their packaging is clearly marked. Also, there are only a few types that contain non-vegan ingredients and it’s mostly their sweets such as muffins.
If you can’t find the bread you’re looking for at your local store, you can order it directly from their website. The loaves are sold pre-cut in slices and the rolls can be ordered in dozen or half dozens.

Naturally, their brand name 365 offers some of the most price-worthy products at Whole Foods and some of their bread is vegan. Just be careful and read the ingredients because some of the bread contains milk and their sandwich bread contains honey.
